Website
Look, home page, pages, languages, custom domain and legal texts of your website.
Every agency gets a website at <your-name>.casttool.net. It shows your published models, takes applications and booking inquiries and lets clients sign in. A casting office has no website, so this part does not apply there.
The website only goes online with the required details, see Getting started.
Look
Under Website you choose the Theme:
| Theme | Feel |
|---|---|
| Classic | Black bar on the left, edge-to-edge images across the whole page. |
| Atelier | Like a magazine: warm paper, large serifs, staggered portraits. |
| Board | Dark and dense: narrow capitals, contact sheet and name lists. |
In the Branding section you upload your Logo as JPEG, PNG or WebP, SVG is not possible. Without a logo, your name appears as lettering. Under Logo display it can be shown in plain white or black. Colours for Background, Text and Accent and the fonts for headings and body text are up to you. If the contrast is too weak, the page warns you. As in theme resets a value.
Whatever you save under Website is public immediately.
Home page
In the Home page section you switch the sections on and off and set their order:
- Header with slider: the images and videos under Slider
- Introduction: with tagline and text per language
- Featured models: the models with a star in the list, see Models
- Partners: logos with an optional link
- Call to apply: leads to the Become a Model form
- Contact details: email, phone and address from the Contact details section
A section without content does not appear, for example partners without an entry. Under Partners, only add brands whose logo you may show.
Pages
Under Pages you maintain your own content. The Common pages About us, Legal notice, Privacy and Terms are created with one click, and your website links them automatically once they are published. Further pages are created with New page, a title and an address.
In the editor you build the page from blocks: heading, text, two columns, image, button and divider. You always work on a draft:
- Save draft stores your work without changing what visitors see.
- Preview shows the draft as it would look online.
- Publish puts the draft online.
- Take offline takes the page off the web.
The list shows the state of each page: Draft, not online, Online or Online, with unpublished changes. The address of the legal notice and the privacy page is fixed. While the website is online, the privacy page cannot be taken offline.
Languages
Under Website, in the Website languages section, you choose which languages visitors see. German is the default language and always on, English can be added. A language that is switched off disappears from the sitemap and the language picker.
You translate each page in the editor under Language with Add translation. Where a translation is missing, the website shows the German version there with a notice, and the address stays out of the search index. Tagline and introduction of the home page are entered per language.
Website audit
The Website audit shows what search engines see of your website: whether it is online, whether required details, description, logo and contact details are missing, which profiles are in the search index and which pages have no text or too long a title. Fix leads to the right place. Sitemap and robots.txt are generated automatically.
The audit reads your settings, models and pages. It says nothing about rankings, loading times or the quality of your texts.
Custom domain
Under Custom domains you connect your own address, such as www.your-agency.com. The website then runs there, and <your-name>.casttool.net redirects to it.
Enter the address, ideally with www in front, and choose Add domain.
At your domain provider, set a CNAME record pointing to the target shown, plus the TXT record from the table. It proves that the domain belongs to you.
Choose Check now. CastTool also checks regularly by itself. Once everything is right, the domain shows Active, and the first one becomes the Primary domain.
After that the TXT record can go, the CNAME record must stay. Until then the table shows the state, for example Waiting for DNS or Certificate in progress.
- Many providers do not allow a CNAME record on the main domain without
www. In that case, redirect the main domain towwwat your provider. - If you use Cloudflare yourself, set the CNAME record there to "DNS only".
- Remove domain switches the website back to
<your-name>.casttool.net.
Before launch
Custom domains are not set up on the platform yet. The Custom domains page says so until they are.
Legal texts
Legal texts contains:
- the wording of every consent that models, parents and your agency give, with every version, so you can find the text for every entry in the log
- your contract with CastTool: terms, data processing agreement and technical and organisational measures
- how the legal notice of your website is built
- building blocks for your privacy policy that describe what CastTool technically does on your website
Versions
The texts under Legal texts apply as of version 2026-11-03. Versions starting with draft- are the drafts before it and stay as evidence. The building blocks do not replace your own privacy policy, so check them and adapt the retention periods.
