Minors
What applies to models under 18 and how parental approval works.
CastTool calculates the age from the date of birth. A model under 18 carries the note Under 18 in the list, a model without a date of birth Age unknown.
What does not work without approval
Without valid parental approval the profile stays offline. Images cannot be approved, documents cannot be uploaded, and the model cannot be part of an offer. Even with approval, only your team switches the profile on, and it never appears in the search index. Minors are excluded from the marketplace entirely.
Without a date of birth a profile cannot be newly published either and stays out of the search index.
Request approval
If someone under 18 applies, the form asks for the name and address of a parent, and the request goes out directly with the application. Otherwise you trigger it yourself:
Under Edit model, open the detail page via Portal, age and consents.
In the Age and parental approval area, enter Name of a parent and Email address of a parent. The address must be different from the model's.
Send request to the parents. The parents get a link and decide within the period shown.
The area shows the state: open, agreed, declined or withdrawn, with the Evidence below it. Once the period has passed, a new request can be sent. What parents see is described under For parents.
Withdrawal
Parents withdraw through the link from their confirmation email. Your team can also end the approval itself with Withdraw and take offline, for example when asked to. In both cases the profile and public images go offline immediately. Documents stay private with the model. The area points this out so you can check whether they need to be deleted.
Selections by link
Minors and models without a date of birth only go into a link for clients with an individual approval per model and link, see Clients.
Your responsibility
Parental approval works through an email link: a parent types their name and confirms that they also act with the agreement of anyone else who holds parental responsibility. As the controller, you decide whether this is sufficient for your case, for example with joint custody or models abroad.
